You letter received this morning-I have wired you, by which you will see
I have written direct to Mr Willies, expressing a hope that he will stand
The 2 other candidates are certainly not desirable ones, either of them,
to represent the district and I hope Mr Willies may be elected.
Having had a great deal of Scotch business to attend to, I have not paid
much attention to Liverpool papers lately and had not seen any particulars of
the local candidates for the County Council.
Some time ago I made a note to remind you to get my name on the list of
County Council voters but did not write upon this point-have you seen to
you had any trouble about people coming on the old footpath? I do not
wish to turn off members of the Artillery Volunteers going for drill etc at
Garston, from the old footpath, but of course it must be managed so as not to
become a right
I have just read your letter enclosing Mr Spencerly’s A/C and note that
you will write further re Mr Bibby-what is the point in reference to this?
Also your former letter, re Pheasants-I am very keen to hear about this
and wish you at once to ask Dr Paul for his opinion at to whether the birds so
affected (or rather those that are still going about) are fit for food, and
would be perfectly safe to use, as this would alter arrangements about the shooting.
You have never said if this complaint is confined exclusively to birds in Coney
Tree Wood-I should like to give the birds so of the raisins I wrote to you
about-so please get some and tell White to use very few at first-of course if he
has any reason for thinking the raisins would be impervious do not get
I expect to leave here tomorrow morning so address your next to Ashton
in ??? haste
